“I decided to get the Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness plate and show support for my beautiful sister who found out she has breast cancer. I’m glad this plate was an option for me to get and a way for me to donate to breast cancer.” -Ivy D.
“I purchased this license plate in honor of my mom who lost her long battle with breast cancer in February of 2023. She fought for a long time, she fought hard, and the battle came to an end. There isn’t a day I don’t think about her, her journey, and at least gain some peace knowing she isn’t suffering anymore. She was the true definition of a warrior and having this license plate on my car is just a touch of honor to her. 🩷” -Bailey L.
“Hello. I am writing to tell you why I purchased two breast cancer awareness plates. I was recently diagnosed with stage 1 IDC. I have had the lumectomy with the sentinel lymph node biopsy recently and getting ready to start radiation. The lumpectomy came back with clean margins and the lymph nodes came back negative. I am thankful to my doctor for ordering the mammogram as I’m sure it saved my life! I am ready to be a survivor! I am forever grateful to all the doctors and nurses for how I have been treated throughout this whole process, and I know everyday is a new day with all the progress in the medical field.” -Tina P.
“I support women 100%. And I believe in finding a cure. If I can spread awareness in any way, I’m more than happy to do so.” -Amille H.
“My annual routine screening mammography was due in April, 2020. All screening mammograms had been shut down during COVID. When I got the letter in late April to remind me to schedule, I called to see when screening might resume. “That’s so weird,” the scheduler said. “I just received an email about 10 minutes ago that they were resuming on May 1st.” I said, “Great! When would you like to schedule me?” She said, “Be our first! I’ll put you down at 8am on May 1st.” During that mammogram, they found an abnormality and the biopsy proved it was cancer. It was very tiny and small and I was able to just have a lumpectomy and 10 radiation treatments. No chemo – which was good because I couldn’t see killing my immune system in a global pandemic. It was truly a God moment and, for that reason, my IBCAT license plate reads “GETCKD” because if I hadn’t gotten checked at my first opportunity, my outcome might have been much, much different.” -Kim W.
